I have never had a Pug, but I have to admit, they are very cute in their own way. I was talking to some fellow dog lovers who have or have had a pug, and they had some good ideas on pug names.

First, for the names they have used. Biggy is one of my favorites. But I also like Chester, Gizmo, and Dunkin. These four pugs were as funny as any dogs I have ever seen.

Then these folks mentioned that their next pug would have one of these names. Moogie, Pigtail, and Pugsby are about as hilarious as pug names as I have ever heard.

Instead of just using their ideas, I came up with a few dog names myself for the little pugsters of the world. Pugster, Winston, and Skipper all sound like pug names to me. It makes me think of all the funny dog names from TV shows and the movies. Remember Edison from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang? Or how about Grunt from Flashdance? Let me finish with a good one. I just loved Shamsky from Everyone Loves Raymond.
