I took our puppy Monday to get spayed and was given 6 Ultrams (tramadol) broken in half to be given 1/2 pill twice a day. My husband says that we should stop giving it to her once she appears to be fine and not in pain anymore (so says his friend/coworker). Should I give her the full course or listen to my know it all husband?

Unless your husband is a vet, and has done hundreds of spays, or he’s a dog, and he knows exactly how much it hurts, you should follow the advice and dosing that the vet gave you.

My Soph came with four days worth of pain management meds, and I used them all, even if she "seemed" to be feeling better.
