Where do you buy your pet meds from?

specifically flea and tick prevention and heartworm meds

I asked a somewhat related question earlier
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Atmm1.0R0XONFMQtiotB28bsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090514110005AAGzgpG

I was hoping to start buying my stuff from 1800petmeds because they're the cheapest I've found so far. My vet is making that impossible to do though as they refuse to write rx and make you buy the meds directly from them (that's what my last question was regarding). I know I can get Sentinel for much cheaper online than at my vets office. Is 1800petmeds a good company?

Side note: My dog is 12 weeks old. Vet has not done heartworm test on her yet but gave me a sample of heartworm meds which I started last month. Now I need to get some more. I do not have a problem with taking the dog to the vet to check for heartworms, I asked them about it and they said they won't test her yet since she's under 6 months old. I guess some people misunderstood me last time and thought that I wasn't wanting to take my dog in to get checked for heartworms.

I get all of my dog's meds at our vet and they actually charge exactly the same as 1800petmeds, so I've never asked about prescriptions. However, if you feel that your vet is money grubbing, I'd find a new vet that you can be completely comfortable with. Speaking from experience, I've been to every vet within 35 miles of my home trying to find a decent one before I found the vet I use now. One vet nearly killed my dog when they botched his neuter, and the other vet was so intent on selling me crap that I didn't need ("What, you already have Frontline at home and don't need any more? Well, I think you do. So here you go!") that he didn't actually do anything for my dog. Just keep moving around until you find someone that you're comfortable with because it'll make a difference when you're comfy enough to approach the vet with any questions and believe them, rather than wonder if they're simply suggesting meds to get extra money from you.
